Michael Goldman's 26.2 Mile Run for Cancer Research
Who: Team In Training
What: Marathon in Anchorage, Alaska When: June 22nd, 2002 Why: Research funds for Leukemia, Lymphoma. The 1/25/02 story in San Jose Mercury News on Louie Bonpua inspired me to finally decide to do it. Dear family and friends, When promoted to Product Manager in 11/2001, I felt so excited about my new position that I wanted to share the news with everyone. Now, I have an even healthier outlook on life by finally learning to find a balance within myself that I am happy with. Interestingly, this balance has little to do with work, career, money, financial debt or saving for graduate school/house. One of the positive leaps I have taken is to sign up for a Marathon and join Team In Training to help find a cure for Leukemia, Lymphoma and other forms of cancer. I have made a commitment to run the 26.2 miles as a way to have more of an outward based focus than just on myself. Focusing on my well-being has helped in all areas of my life, but also balancing that out with helping others is what really gets me choked up with emotions. My marathon training is 6 days out of 7 and the thing I can't believe is how well Inga (my beautiful wife) is putting up with my new routine. Thank you for supporting The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Team In Training and me in this great cause. Cheers, Michael Mordechai Goldman |
